I apologise, I should have seen that. Steve's negative is much better; I can now see the left hand side of the stamp. It starts with a valley (V) in the upper left corner. Counting down one sees 11 peaks. I can still not make out the right hand side. It should start with a peak (P) at the upper right hand side if everything is normal. Lonedan, can you check if that is true, and also please count the peaks on that side? Should be 11!

Peter

Lonedan, I just got your post of 2hrs 21min ago about 5 min ago. The right hand side is definetely hard to see; the scan does not make it any better. But I think you can see how the right side starts; it should start with a peak. Then count all the peaks down to the bottom!

i have made a line to where I think the peaks are...i thing there are 11 peaks on each side...but I think the top right starts on top with a valley not a peak

and there seems a very long area before the valley starts

to my eye there are 11 peaks and 12 valleys on the left and
11 peaks and 11 valleys on the right

in looking closer
i think the right has been miscut or misperfered
with this considered I think this is what the stamps is with peaks an valleys
peaks 11 left and 12 right
valleys 12 left and 11 right

i can not be sure about the peak on the right for certain...but I do not see even a listing for a stamp with 11 peaks on both sides
as per the sites I have been looking at

Lonedan, sorry for the delay! If your count is correct, you have a 2915C.
Sometime in a previous post you asked where the info on the valleys and peaks are? PNC3, the Plate Number Coil Collectors club, has several publications on these stamps. Problem is that these publications usually sell out pretty quick. You might try the PNC3 website for more info: www.PNC3.us/pnc3.org. Also, a South Carolina collector by the name of Todd R Uebele, Sr has a website that shows all varieties of this stamp.
For this go to www.flagoverporchpubs.com.
I hope you can find what you're looking for!

yes, this is a 2915C and specialists call this particular die cut 11/12 or 11x12 (11 peaks on the left side and 12 peaks on the right side), but the right side is damaged (parts of the peaks have been clipped off). The rare one is the other way around (12/11).
