Very nice collection of the modern officials!
I have pitifully few of the newer ones.
Those are also tough to get on cover.

Rather than starting a new thread titled "Oh-my... It's Unofficial" I thought I'd pile on here.

Yesterday I received a lot of officials I had purchased on ebay -- here is the UR corner of the cover the dealer (who is not a government entity) sent them in.



I wonder if he had asked a postal clerk for a hand-cancel, rather than placing the cover in a mail drop, if it would still have entered the mail stream...

Oh, my! And it even had a warning on the consequences for private use. That is very curious ... and illegal. Thanks for posting it.

Ive found this old Department of State stamp.





Any idea of actual market value? I'm not familiar with US stamps.

Significant value if it's legit. I don't have a catalog handy at the moment.

In 2010 it cataloged at $1,500... But I have on clueof a market price.

In that condition I think it could fetch $150-$300 retail.
