Went to my local post office to purchase new releases today the March 19th. Was able to get the Modern Art souvenir sheet (a bit disappointed in the appearance of the selvage; not much there except lots of white). Since the first day of issue for the Lydia Mendoza stamp was in the first week of the month, I asked the clerk if they also had it for sale. She'd obviously never heard of this issue, said that they hadn't received any, and wasn't even sure if they had ordered any.

I was gobsmacked to say the least since the post office and I are deep in the heart of the Republic of Texas. Now wouldn't you think that a stamp with Miss Mendoza, the great Tejano singer, standing in front of a background entirely - I mean entirely - covered with the Texas Lone Star flag might just be a potentially big seller in Texas? To quote Forrest Gump, I'm not a very smart man, but I believe I see a flaw in USPS thinking. Seems as though USPS should have made a forced distribution to Texas as I believe they also did with the Ladybird panes. Isn't it sad that even when USPS could potentially make a bucket of money, they still screw it all up!
