It's so tiny that it looks like a fragment of a cover but it's not. It's complete. the stamps are tiny too.
Can someone tell me about these Victoria stamps? CV and year of issue would also help. This part of my catalog is missing.. Thanks in advance.

"Half lengths of Victoria"? sounds like a myth or something. I'm really not familiar with Australian stamps but this cover was so shockingly tiny that I bought it.

SG shows 3 die states for the half-d. Yours is Die I. There are a few perf varieties. If you want to measure them, we can determine an SG number.
SG384...12x12.5
SG401...11
SG409...compound or mixed 12.5 and 11

Thanks stallzer!
You've been a great help! Actually it seems much more complicated than I thought according to this link. The stamps on a cover make it difficult too because you can't see the watermarks.

I think that they could also be classed as "Bantams" , but, that name was given specifically to the WW II definitives of the Union of South Africa.

I have nothing relevant to add, but that cover is awesome. I would have bought it, too, just for the size. I take it there were no contents?

Bujutsu,
"Bantams"?? I surely never heard of it. I just Googled images, and got bunch of chickens...

Zuzu,
Yeah, it's cute isn't it? I just loved it when I saw it. BTW, your nick also sounds very cute, somehow Czech sounding..

Prahanoaki, my nick comes from my absolute favorite movie, It's A Wonderful Life. On your comment that it sounds Czech, I did a little Googling and found this:

Quote:
1) comes "from Zuzana, the Czech/Slovak form of Susannah" (http://www.namecandy.com/name-lady/...mockingbird)
2) is "Czech, diminutive of Susan" (http://nameberry.com/babyname/Zuzu)
3) "is of Yiddish and Slavonic origin. From Slavonic roots, its meaning is 'lily'. Zuzu is a variation of Zusa (Czech, Polish, and Yiddish). Zue (diminutive in) and Zu (contraction in) are variations of Zuzu." (http://www.babynamespedia.com/meaning/Zuzu)

Source: http://zuzugingersnaps.wordpress.co...-name-zu-zu/

BTW, my real name is Susan; I have no Czech background that I know of; and I apologize for taking this thread completely off topic.
