Came across this stamp. Looks like PR5 or maybe PR4. However, the paper is very thick, almost like card stock, and the perforation is home made . I do not know anything about these stamps. Is paper supposed to be this thick? I don't know if margins are wide enough to assume that it was imperforated originally, or the perforation was cut off. Any thoughts?

Looks like a Senf Brothers forgery of the 1880s. Hold the stamp up to a strong light and see if the tiny word "Facsimile" has been daubed over with blue coloring, or scratched away, and the damage concealed with repairs. No newspaper stamp was ever "perforated" thus.

Agree it appears to be a forgery.

Gentlemen, thank you very much for the input.

The perforation definitely is not right; looks like someone was making cuts with the scissors. But I would never thought of a forgery; so many fine lines.

Case closed.

Forgot to mention that I couldn't find any "Facsimile" print as doug2222 suggested, but I could've been looking in all the wrong places.
