I was on my way to basketball practice and I stopped to get the mail out of the mail box. Looking through the many envelops I saw that I had some nice stamps today. Well my wife was coming down the road so I waited and handed her the mail.

The last thing I said was, "Watch how you open the envelops I want those stamps." Well you know the rest of the story out they went and the best part is she isn't really sure if she tossed them in the trash or in the coal furnace.

Whoa. Looks as if you need to write Dear Abbey or Ann Landers, if either of these still exist! There is no such columnist here nor in the APS journal.

Sorry to hear about the ones that got away!

My wife has taught me that stamps are invisible to non-collectors. As she opens the mail she just doesn't notice them and they end up wrinkled, torn or thrown away. When some good looking stamps arrive, I offer to open the mail for her and then hand her the contents.

My wife will not notice a stamp unless it is about a subject that interest her. I have pulled several overseas covers out of the trash !

This is one thing my wife gets right. Even when I wasn't collecting, she knew I
was saving stamps so when she's through with her mail, saves them for me. She
just tears them off and puts them where I will see them. She doesn't handle my
mail so no problem there.

My Wife also does the right thing. When I come home from work, there is usally a stamp or two cut from the envelope and sitting on the table for me. The folks at work save me the stamps that come into the office too.

I have not come across this problem as all the bills just magically
appear on my desk. Go figure.

Isn't that number three in the Top Ten List of Reasons for Getting a Divorce?

My wife doesn't give a flip about stamp collecting, but being the beautiful bride she is, she always saves me the envelopes!

Guess I'm the lucky one here....

Sara and her whole family save just about everything for me.

Maybe we should start an intervention group.

I have several MA and PHD psychology majors that teach courses for me. I don't think any of them would touch this group - except for the lady who majored in Abnormal Psychology!

I have to give my wife credit she doesn't really see what all the fuss is about these little pieces of paper. However she has never said one word about the money I have put into the stamps. Though on occasion she will ask if they are worth anything.

I simple tell her just add up the face value on the MNH stamps and that will come out to not much.

Most of the time she will remember to save the stamps and makes sure she doesn't damage the stamps when opening up a letter.

But there was that one time we ran out of stamps and she lifted one from my collection. She had a good come back though. She told me to make sure she doesn't run out of regular postage stamps.

I thought that was a fair request.

When you see her starting to use a price guide or catalog watch out, as they may disappear quicker than you can buy them!
