The writing on the back is in reverse. no doubt some text transfered from the envelope, or what ever that stamp was on, onto the back of the stamp. probably a very water soluble ink. looks like it soaked right into the stamp. That would be my guess, anyway.

Wonder why its not on the paper though not under any magnification can I see ink permeation or transfer! It's totally like it went on the paper before print, Looks like its under the white ink to me now I'm guessing of course but some should come off when scraped if transferred I would think. And it stops right at the boarder top and sides.

Stever, on the scan you made it is impossible to read for me, but I think you might make out what it says? If you can, post here what it says; if it is in German (likely) someone can translate it for you!

Not sure where you are seeing Konik on the back - doesn't look like it from the images posted. I wouldn't expect Polish on an Austrian stamp. If you are reading the front of the stamp, most likely you mean Konig (King) Konigliche (royal).

`Raum zum aufkleben der Frankomarken` - place to stick stamps. Possibly transferred from the upper left corner of an Austrian parcel card (paketkarte).

Sounds viable in the translation but one problem. This is not on the paper as a soak threw its under the printed stamp if you look closely this is not on the the outside of the stamp the paper is white. The image is under the red and white part of the stamp. Now I have to determine if the printer printed this stamp as well as the post card too.

I would like to know if the Cancel is 1907 which I think it is. If so I'm thinking weren't most post cards of the early 1900's in black and white? Now I'm not trying to make this anything its not, but the ink on this stamp is dark blue light blue looking from the rear look at the front you can make out the Dark blue letters under the red and white. If it were bleed threw it would not be visible looking at the front this is my conception with most stamps.

Not sure where you are going with that Stever, but yes probably the ink on the back of a postcard, where this would have picked up the German text, would have been black. But, ever done a litmus test, where you draw a line of ink on a piece of paper and dip the tip of the paper in water? As the water soaks up the paper, the ink is broken down into it's components and you get a rainbow of sorts running up the paper. A lot of that rainbow will be blue. Black basically composed of all colours - different blacks with different proportions of course (white is the total absence of colour).
Your stamp has acted as litmus paper and the blue components of the ink have run up through the fibres of the paper.
Hope that makes sense. I'm on some wicked allergy meds right now.

Of course, yes this makes sense now. This is why no ink is on the back of the paper at all. The complete thing must have been saturated with who knows what and the ink soaked all the way to the front of the stamp and gathered there in quantity looking like placed letters but could not permeate the front ink. This is acceptable these darn little things Very good.. Cheers

Here`s a same card (listed on ebay- I can`t find one, but I`m sure I had one)- it`s not black@white: same greenish blue. Check the upper right side.
