I found an odd perforation on USA #1361 looking through some miscellaneous stamps, but didn't see anything in the Scott catalog for this. Do they normally catalog perf errors like this? Maybe the perforations could have been faked, but wouldn't that require an imperf sheet? I guess my questions are, genuine or not, and how to value?

One-off perf errors are virtually never cataloged; this is a nice example, and strikes me as a $10-20 item, since it's a plate block. No promises, however.

Thanks, I just wasn't sure what to make of it.

Might even be $25. It's a nice freak perf, although my experience in talking with people is that the market for used is nowhere near the market for mint. I don't understand why personally, but that is the way it is.

Just goes to show how indifferent non-collectors are for such things. As long as it paid the 48-cents postage, they just licked the stamps and attached it to their parcel for delivery, probably never even noticing the misperfs.

As stated by others, although these misperfs are collectible by EFO collectors, they do not command all that much of a premium on the secondary market, particularly in used condition.

Affirm previous comments. I would break out the plate block for $25 asking. Then the four singles at $4 each. Then you would be at around $35 after fees if they do sell. Not bad!

Agree; I think I underestimated a little bit. It's hard enough to find such a nice EFO single to begin with, much less an intact plate block.
