According to the online International Postage Meter Stamp Catalog, the indicia shown in the previous illustration (USPMSC VM-A-GB2 or IPMSC PV3) was only used on two Mailomat machines: Meter #101 and 51001. Many other Mailomat indicias exist, but only those two machines used the one specifically shown in the previous illustration.

I picked up an interesting meter recently, though I was more interested in the cover for other reasons. It's a NYC meter dated June 1, 1939 stamped on a Philatelic Truck souvenir sheet -- and signed by Ralph Davis, the truck's supervisor. The cover notes that this is "from first 'Postometer' put in use at Penn Sta. Gen'l Post Office."
Here's an old meter that I've had tucked in the back of one of my lighthouse binders. I though you "meter-heads" might want to take a crack at it? I haven't found out too much about it other than probably from a bank or financial institution someplace in Chicago?
