I am returning to collecting after a long hiatus of 50 years. I was never the "professional"; I never counted perforations or looked at watermarks in my youth. I was just happy to have "one of" the stamps in my album. I collect mostly pre-1960 stamps. I've found that in todays world of philately, many countries produce stamps as their greatest source of income. Too many to count, too many to collect.

If you wanted them all, you're right. Too many. 1960 is a good cutoff point, in my mind.

Collect what you want, how you want, and it'll be fine.

Welcome, and if you have the ability to scan some stamps, no one here gets tired of looking at stamps.
