Are there specific terms for a single stamp design covering four or more stamps? I know the term "triptych" is used for 3 stamps, but I couldn't find one for 4 stamps (a rather common form amongst US modern stamps). There have also been several 5-stamp varieties, such as the Summer Garden Flowers booklet panes issued in 93 and 94. I think the Space Achievement issued in 81 has the highest number of stamps involving a single design in US history.

The general category is referred to as 'composites' and the specific term for a four-stamp composite design is a quadripartition. Not that you'll hear it much...

I don't think I've ever heard the term used in general philately...but there it is right in the middle of the stamp encyclopedia at this link:

Many thanks. I can't say I've ever come across the term quadripartition used in the philately context. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the earliest usage of the term refers to the Greek empire being divided into four parts.

Now, what about the 5-stamp (or 6-stamp......) varieties? I was hoping may be there is such a term as "pentapartition", but it is not in the encyclopedia linked by wt1. Indeed, even the term "composite" is not in it.
