I have removed my statement which threw this topic off track. So now lets get it back on track, thanks.

I think I am in agreement with the original poster. As a kid beginning to collect, I acquired a knowledge of geography and history which has never left me. I am always amazed at the lack of awareness of georgaphy among young people. I am a former high school teacher and most of the students couldn't find countries on a world map.

Collecting has broadened my knowledge of the world and its cultures. Don't mean this to sound preachy, but it is so true.

Plus I like all the pretty colors.

When I was a kid, it taught me to love geography. Today it keeps me sane.
