I make between two and three trips to the post office each week. Besides operating the farm I have another day job and work from home two days a week and travel the other three days.
Because of this I don't miss any of the new issues. It also gives me some time to go through the sheets looking for singles and plate numbers, my favorites.
I know Nancy doesn't mind because the extra sells helps to keep her numbers up. Of course she always makes sure to have the newer stamps ready for me when I come.
It sure makes collecting the new issue pretty easy.
I would say I average about one trip a week..i put the normal first class envelope in my mailbox...if I have ANY doubt about the weight I bring it in for the post office scale..if someone is waiting for something from me I do not want it coming back for additional postage !!
These days I only go about once a month, if that often. It's about 20 miles round trip. I order all my stamps from the Fullment Center since the PO rarely has what I want/need anyway.
If I have a question about the proper amount of postage I just guess way high. Even if I pay double, it's cheaper than the money and time it takes to make the trip.
