I came upon this unusual (?) New York City postal marking shown on a 1905 post card for sale on the internet:

The postal marking at the LL of the card would appear to be a circular "Received" (?) stamp with a large "C" at the top and the date "10-16-1905" on the second line and then "2-1P" on the third line and "N.Y." on the bottom.
I don't recall seeing this type of postal marking before. Is it unusual? What does the "2-1P" mean? Perhaps Clerk No. 2 and 1 PM?
