Scott 2179, Misspelling (Sort Of ...)

Constantly flyspecking and found this pair in a recent mailing to me. Neither stamp was cancelled, but they are used. The left hand one is normal, the right hand one appears to have a misspelling with "Physician" spelled "Physici<backward s>n".



However, it is easy to see that a piece of paper prevented the completion of the poor quality "a". Anyway, just something fun to show.

It looks to be either an 'a' with a broken downstroke or interrupted inking.
