Art and Ray, Sorry about that. As one of my ebay seller friends says, "Sometimes your the dog and sometimes your the hydrant". Art will be happy to know that I listed a stamp just for him tonight and that I won't be bidding on it. I think the first one will be 9L5. I actually have an earlier impression of this position already. The second one is of course, 1R5 and a very early impression with jaw dropping color that I have only found on Plate 5 stamps. |

I'm already bidding on 3 other items from you but that one is near and dear to my heart. Those I don't often let get away. Art |

Appreciate the compliment. Here is a #206, chuckle chuckle, that I was happy to spend $5.33 on. |

Not a 206, that's a one cent. Not the re-engraved either (which would be 209). If it's soft paper it's a 188. But whatever its number, at $5.33 it's a super bargain. |

Art and Winston, Were either of you guys in on this one?? 350927227709Since my goal is to complete the type V "A"reliefs, I was thrilled to win that one, probably the key... Ray |

Yes, I was bidding but I am not the one that cost you 80 bucks. I wasn't planning on adding it to my collection so couldn't go too high. My favorite A relief is 8R8. Completing the Type V, A reliefs? That must mean you don't have much need for that 10L5 you got a while ago :) |

I'll restate that-- A reliefs of the type V and Va's..
10L5? Which one-- the perforated copy or the imperf? :)

Winston,
Thanks for the heads up! Someone was trying to take it away from me! I don't see too many of these curls, it's not that I'm trying to get them all but just better copies. I think I may have paid too much but it's not an investment.

Art,
Thanks again. Not much consolation to you but it will help make up for some lousy realizations on several items recently. |

Sinclair I wouldn't do anything with them. Especially the envelope. I would leave them in tact, even the strip of three. It's too bad they cut the first stamp too close. I would remove the selvage off the one stamp however. I think, just my opinion, that selvage makes stamps look like crap. The only selvage I ever leave on any of my stamps is if they have the plate numbers on them. |
