Hi everyone,
Just joined a few days ago so figured I'd introduce myself.
Like most folks I started as a kid and quickly got pretty serious about collecting. We had a family friend who was a dealer, so I would occasionally go over to his place and soak & sort stamps for him in exchange for stamps. After a few years and he saw I was serious, he gave me his old 5 volume Minkus Supreme Global Album (you know, the one that weighs about 100 lbs and has spaces for almost every stamp in the world). So that kept me busy for many years!
In the 90's I started focusing on used Canada with CDS cancels. Then computer games got in the way for about 15 years.

I never realized how much they took me away from other hobbies I loved. About 9 months ago I gave up the gaming and then last week I was rooting around in the basement and found my philatelic hoard. And now I'm hooked again on these little pieces of paper

The internet sure has changed things in the last 15 years. Still getting a feel for how the hobby has changed and what direction I want to go, but I still have a love affair with beautiful postally used stamps, and probably always will.
