My goal in 2009 is to make it to April when I get my Social Security. Then I can buy more stamps.
My goal in life is to fill every space I can in every album I have or will have.
My problem is not enough time in the day to do it all. and chatting on here doesn't help.
Interesting, though.

Well I suppose my wife would not mind if the 11 plastic sweater boxes of stamps stacked here in the computer/stamp room disappeared..like the STASI investigator in "Other Peoples lives" said "people don't change" !

My main goal is to start putting some of my collection into albums.

I have a few countries organized and catalogues: Poland, Canada, Togo, Austria, Hungary.

Of course I have two major obstacles at present.

Number 1: My mother in law has taken over my stamp room. She's here for another 2 week ( one month total).

Number 2: I'm still trying to get my printer and computer to get along. Can't work on that till the mother in law leaves.

I've been having these very disturbing thoughts lately. I keep thinking I might put together a mint semi-mini-collection of Canada from 1930 to 1979. I've started a similar U.S. collection which grew out of my printing out and filling the APS free catalog pages.

My goal is to talk myself out of it if the voices will let me.

Those voices can be very persistant and deafening sometimes. It has to do with our condition "collecting bug" and this forum is addicting. Like find Like and all that.

Thanks philb for the offer but I can't contact you off-board yet because I'm too new to the group. I'm at a loss as to how else to get you the necessary info.
Sorry....

Well I guess the short version is to make more effective use of my time..i spend a LOT cataloging and sometimes listing for sale stamps that I own but do not fall into the catagories I collect..the idea is to cut down on the number of stamps..but I tend to catalog the better ones or the ones I like and the more common ones remain stagnent..then of course I spend time on the stamp forum chat and surfing the internet stamp markets...it all takes time folks !!

For starters I would like to acquire several pages of Q. Victoria stamps from as many issuing entities as possible, in the best condition possible. That would be approximately 12 stamps per page, since I make up my own pages. A nice representative collection. Also, I would like to expand my South America collection, which I have mostly ignored over the years, focusing on other countries. And perhaps (I'm dreaming here) get at least 10 or 12 good copies of one of my favorite stamps, U.S. E7. I don't have a single one so far. Gives you something to shoot for.....

Hi All,

Main goals are to get through much of the envelopes of stamps I've aquired in trades and get them posted into my albums. Another goal is to get my 50 posts here so I can start trading/selling/auctioning here. Another goal is to start doing some more giveaways.

Here's an update of the conquering of my Goals:

Got rid of the Mother in Law

Fixed the printer

Printed pages for My homemade Canadian album

Have hinged most stamps from 1959 to the late 1980's

Not bad for two weeks work.
