What are your major stamp collecting goals for 2009?
Are there some key acquisitions that you are going to focus on?
Are you planning to venture into some new areas?
Or do you just need to get caught up with mounting all the things you bought already?
For me, there are a few key US stamps I would like to acquire in good condition at a fair price. If it is a good year, I would like to complete the used Trans-Mississippi commemorative issues, since I only need the $1 black "Western Cattle in a Storm." As for expanding into new areas, I plan to look for Queen Victoria era covers from around the British Empire, with specific focus on Canada.

I would say mounting the last few years of new issues, the pages are still in the wrapping. Organize my topical collections better. I am focusing on my Lincoln collection and have already begun acquiring a list of cachet artists to order from. Get rid of excess stamps. As for new areas: start my local post. Make new stamp collecting friends. |

My key collecting goals for 2009 are:
- sort/acquire/mount the three head plate varieties of the KGVI Imperium sets from The Leeward Islands and Mauritius;
- organise and write-up my U.S. Air Mail usages on cover;
- write-up and organise my Cardiology on Stamps collection; and lastly,
- try and figure out where I am going with this "Death in Philately" I've ventured into.

Of course the Local Post & MPP. Building on my MNH US stamps, the same with my Used US stamps.
Help Katelyn grow her worldwide and older USED US stamp collection. |

I hope to leave everything except my Guatemala and APS Lincoln pages alone. That's a tall order for me, though. I tend to jump around a lot as my mood changes. |

After submitting to your poll on albums and seeing a large problem, the following should happen to my collection.
First, a large culling of the herd is needed to thin some out.
Secondly, fill some more on my new topical (triangle/odd shape) and Central/South America Collection.
Finally, see if one or two high ticket items can be had for the US side. And a little more organization would not hurt. |

My goals for this year: - sort my BRD (Germany) Stamps, so I can get rid of all the double ones that are not nicely cancelled - get all the "usual" issues of New Zealand. There's a stamp convention in March, I think. I should be able to get some sets there. |

My goal is clearly to fill the last remaining 'holes' in my Argentina Department Officials. |

My plans are to organize me WWII collection into hinge less albums. I am going to try to trade for some spots I am missing in my collection. Spend more time with my stamps....time has been short lately. I am still trying to get a really common stamp that I have had trouble getting. The German stamp with Hitler receiving flowers from a little girl (B170 I think). I plan to acquire some more obscure WWII covers and Cinderellas. |

Rick, do not pay too much for a Guatemala #6 ..only 10,000 were printed and for a stamp that catalogs 115.00 I see way too many of them floating around ebay....i have a "utility" type #6 in my album I paid around 15 dollars for it and an obvious mint counterfeit on the page next to it..but mint or used..there could be more fakes than the legit stamp !! |

I will continue to work on King Edward VII and King George V British. I am hooked on the different shades of these issues. For example, the first profile head of the George V 1/2 d has as many as 19 different shades. Some are definitely out of my price range, but the more common ones make a nice display.
Also, I continue to work on my 1st volume of the Heirloom album for US. I just can't get to excited by the modern issues. |
