I have the same card from 1909. Isn't this Copyright Infrigement?

I also have cards in my collection that are identical images. If I am not mistaken, a lot of the postcard publishers of the day did contracted photography by free lance photographers. This way, the photographer maintained a copyright to his / her photos and had the agreement to sell to different publishers (?)

After running across several postcards of The Flatiron Building (NYC) ... whites, linens, chromes ... I've been buying each new-to-me one that I find.

They provide a nice basis for showing much of the evolution of postcard printing, as the perspective is pretty much always the same.

The trick, of course, is how to spot a likely 'repeater' when you are looking at the *first* one you find; buy it, or wait?
