Essayk, I think you should tell us the real reason why you are so upset about the CCC.

I do not think the CCC needs to hear from folks about how connected they are. They go about their own business in their own way.

I checked your previous posts to this board and discovered that on a scale of 1 to 10 your philatelic knowledge appears to be 0 or at best 1.

Since most of the responders never heard of the CCC I am wondering how you came to hear of them? I have heard of them and have purchased many of their fine publications. Count this as a positive.

Did you find them somehow and decide to call them and ask one of your brilliant questions?

Thanks for the feedback.

The group isn't real web savvy, so I'm not surprised peeps don't know 'em. Their main claim to fame is publication - authors come to them to get books published. They do a lot behind the scenes, too, but now that low profile is starting to catch up with them.

Anyway, time will tell whether they do anything to make themselves better known, but somehow I rather doubt it. Thanks again for the replies.

I did a presentation to a CCC meeting a couple of years ago. I was well received and treated very kindly. The hospitality was great. A member has offered to nominate me for membership, but as I live 100+ miles from Chicago, I've declined. I know several members somewhat well philatelicly; they are top notch people. The membership includes many (most?) of the philatelic leaders from the Chicago area; several are among the best exhibitors/judges.

They have an extensive library. As previously noted, their publications are fantastic. Some of their books are absolutely essential to several of my collections/exhibits.

In summary, my impression of CCC is quite positive.

Not upset, Bert. Exploring something.

They do, but they are becoming increasingly conscious of how they do or do not impact the hobby.

All of them? Do tell us what you looked at that was so inept. Better yet, consider fixing the bad info.

I found them well over 20 years ago, Bert, and first became a member back then. I am a member now. My interest is as an insider.

I wanted to try to gain from your superior philatelic knowledge Bert, but five posts since November 2012 doesn't leave much of a trail. I've got to say though that you are good at slamming strangers.

Thanks for your contribution.
