Hi...Can anyone tell me why one of these post cards is cancelled and the other isn't...They both were delivered to me in the mail some time ago..??

That happened quite often wert.

As far as I know, those particular cards went through the mail and, often, they were not cancelled. I heard somewhere on the grapevine that because of the lines by Lincoln's head, these were mainly treated as 'precancels' (used in great numbers or bulk). If that is the case, then this would explain why the majority went through the mail system un-cancelled (?)

This 4c red violet Lincoln postal card was issued precanceled with 3 printed red violet lines (Scott UX48; November 19, 1962).

Precanceled US postal cards do not require cancelling but cards used singly rather than in mass mailings frequently went through regular processing.
