Is it possible that some of the last issuances of the 1867 E or F series could have been subjected to having a G Grill imposed upon the stamp rather than the E or F that is normally associated with the stamp? I guess I'm wondering out loud because I may have one. If so, what do I do to have it expertized?

The 'G' grill was unique to the 1869 pictorial issues (Scott 112-122).

I think it more likely that you have a light grill impression that appears smaller than it actually is, or an attempt at a forgery in which the forger mistakenly impressed the wrong grill size on to your stamp.

Bill Weiss is an expert on classic US stamps - in particular grilled issues, - is a member of this forum, and is the least expensive expertizer on the market.
