Hello Filippo and welcome to SCF. You are so lucky to have a chance to live in China with its more than 5000 years history, culture, music, literature,etc. I play around with the guqin,write poetry in Chinese classic style while drinking Longjing (Dragon Well) tea from Hangshou.Never been to China. Suprise you do not collect China stamps since you are there. You will find many interesting topics and fellow collector here; hope to have your thoughts, experience and questions, etc.

actually I started collecting Chinese stamps, mostly provinces and communist armies issues, but prices have gone up too much recently and my wallet has a limited capacity... However I still buy some "nice" issues from 1950s to mid 70s whenever I can find them at convenient prices.

Some years ago before the Chinese stamp market boomed, I could find whole uncut sheets of early PRC issues, but now they are getting a little overpriced.

I am in Fuzhou (Fujian province) anyway, not too far from Hangzhou...

I have studied the pre Qin period well in your area especially the Huqiutou Culture in Min Yue (now F¨²zh¨­u)-more than 5000 yrs. old; however most of my studies are around the Qin ( Qin Shi Huang) and Han dynasties as well as the Three Kingdoms period. I find the period fascinating. Each year during the Lantern Festival each year I enjoy red and white rice cakes stuffed yuanxiao from F¨²zh¨­u.
Yes, you are right about China's stamp prices - so many Chinese are now collection their Country's stamps as well as rediscovering their
long history since Mao Tse-tung died. Price will more than likely get really steep just because of supply and demand.
