Why is it so hard to upload pictures to this forum. I've tried 1200dpi to 200. I tried for 40 minutes to upload a simple little pic of a stamp and still didnt upload it. Why can't you use the drop and drag method which would be so dang easy. It is so fustrating to me as I would like to upload some pics. I've used the resizer and i've used the regular green camera to upload and still nowhere. Even if the site is compressing and all the other stuff it shouldn't take but a few minutes at the most. GEEZ WEEZ!!!! Could some one please help me out here. I'm about to throw everything out the dang window in the snow and rain

I use Dropbox. Create a 'public link' and paste it into the <img> tags. Works perfectly.

Remember to keep the picture size below 100K. A lot of us re-open the file using paint and resize it until the size limit is reached.

Fustration is the norm in trying to get to the size limits, it often takes me a couple attempts to get close to the 100K goal and not over.

I don't understand all the fuss? Why don't you just use an image hosting site and just post the [img] tag in the body of your message? no muss-no fuss and you are done.

I use the SCF image 'optimizer' tool (link above).

Works like a charm.

Cheers,

IRFANVIEW will compress most photos/scans down to the desired "size" without having to upload to Photobucket type sites. Handy for a quick posting.
Every time you want to save scan/photo as a .jpg file it shows this window first...

Set the File Size to 98kb or thereabouts (compression is relative anyway) and it will work here on SCF. Leave it ticked if you have a few scans etc to post and it will do them all at that size.
