In 1969 I demolished a building and found some stamps within the walls of the building. The letters pertained to an underground railroad for slaves to the north. I kept the post marks and stamps just didn't think at the time it was right to save the letters. Are cancelled stamps with the postal mark worth anything? All the stamps are from the Civil War era. Any info would be helpful, because I have know knowledge of stamps are postal marks. There was also a few coins and a couple of Civil War era swords in the framework of the building. I will try to take pictures of the stamps to show them.
