This is my US collection (what I have sorted out to date). I have been looking at these for 40 years. Most were collected as a young, enthusiastic stamp collector. As you can tell, I have continued to "collect" misc. stamps that interested me as I got older. Or family would hold cool stamps for me and I would place them in my stamp briefcase. I also have some pages of German stamps that I may post over in the World forums.

I post these to share my joy. Based on many other posts that I have seen here, these appear to be all common stamps with no real market value. But they are all priceless to me. Most, if not all, are modern. If anybody spots anything special, feel free to let me know. So I know which ones to take extra special care of, LOL!

I hope I am not becoming "the annoying new guy." You must get a lot of us here, LOL!

Welcome marmus

Nice stuff and lots of people here will be eager to help you with any questions

The only annoying new guys are the ones that come here, thinking they struck it rich and refuse to believe the advice they've been given when they're told they haven't struck it rich, make a big scene and then leave and never come back :) Although I find those threads kind of fun too LOL

marmus, Greetings:

Remember what the dentists would say? "You only have to floss the teeth you want to keep."

Re-purposing: "You only have to take special care of the stamps you really like."

I'm glad you are having a good time.

Nice KC pre-cancel!

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey

That $1 dollar documentary revenue under the blue special delivery stamp (on page 2, 4th row, 1st stamp on left) should be protected a little better than the rest.

Here's a question for those who may have knowledge/interest in slogan cancels. I know it was widely used, but what was the "Safety '76" campaign all about?

You might soak the stamps off the paper. It would present a little nicer appearance.

Marmus welcome to SCF. Nice collection. I know they bring back precious memories. We collect, I collect, for the fun of it not for monetary gain. I will never get back the money I've put into my collection so I don't even think about it. Stamp collecting to me is a Hobby not a business adventure. Again Welcome to SCF

Couldn't agree more. As a business venture it's hard work as well as having not only a good business sense but careful managing of your money.
