Two stamps, side-by-side. The left stamp matches my mint versions, in that they are very green, dark. The right stamp seems a lot brighter, less green, better flesh tones. I wonder if one of the colors was just a little weak that day.
Though, I think I just answered my own question as I easily found another US stamp from same timeframe with noticeable color variation. Maybe just subtle aging? Anyway, I'm sure there are lots of similar comparisons out there.
