Hi All

I've been given a stamp collection and some of the stamps are stuck together. What's the best way to separate them? Hold them over kettle steam??

Thanks

There really is no GOOD way to do it. Steaming only gives very mixed results. A 'sweat box' is fairly easy to construct and can give fair results but there is still a glue residue on the stamp faces in stuck together stamps. The best remedy is to bite the bullet and simply soak them and then they will be valued at the lower price of mint vs. used.

soaking to me is the safest and there is residual value as opposed to damaging the stamp which eliminates all value
