What would be the value of C1 - C150 MNH - (C17-C19 PSE Cert 80)?
Pretty much have US #548 through the year 1981 primarily Mint NH but some earlier used MLH stamps. Some earlier issues but don't want to list individually & nothing rare anyway.

I'm trying to convince my wife that she shouldn't just throw this away if something should happen to me! We were just having a conversation & I mentioned my stamps & she said she would probably just throw it away :-(

Thanks in advance.

As you know, the MNH C13-C15 set alone is worth $2000. Apparently your wife likes throwing away money, or maybe you haven't adequately relayed to her your collection's value.

Well,

It depends on condition..

Scott should around $400 on C1-C3 and $300 on C4-C6.

The Zepps, if they're PSE 80, should cat around $2k.

Throw in the Baby Zepp at $80 or so and that's really the value of the collection. The rest of them, for the most part, have little value.

There are a few others that shouldn't be overlooked... C21, C24 and C31 in MNH condition all catalog close to $20.

When was the last set of Zepps (grade 80) that was sold for $2000.?
PSE's SMQ does not even value the grade 80 at $2K.

C1-C6 also have value in MNH condition, depending on centering. Also there is at least a few hundred dollars in a NH collection from 548 to 1981, again depending on centering.

Depends on what you mean by "worth". The 2014 Scdott Catalog Value for a grade 80 set of C13-15 is $1900, but that is what you would expect to pay buying from a full service dealer. Zepps tend to command a higher % of catalog value than many other stamps. I'm just guessing here, but I would guess they would go for somewhere between $650 and $1000 in an auction and you would get charged a selling commission, so your net would be less.

Ifyou really have all from 548 to year 1981, then the 551-573 set and the Kansas-Nebraska set (658-679) are another couple of big winners (more than the couple of hundred dollars someone else suggested).

Ahh I was thinking just the airmails.

Zepps have, from what I am told from dealers, a rather thin "spread" between retail and wholesale.

The financially correct move is to sell the collection before one's demise.
Of course easier said than done :}
