Brian,
Sorry I did indeed not understand.

For me, using employees to list/sell makes one no less responsible. Harder to control? Sure. But having employees (brokers, agents, w/e you want to call them) act as an buffer to abdicate any level of responsible doesn't fly for me. In my book if I own and am making money on a stamp but get you to list it for me in any way, then I do not get to say that any issues with the sale aren't my issues.
Don
Edit: not saying that Bill Langs does this, just saying it as a general statement.

I've made a couple of purchases from "billsbargainstamps." Generally, the listings are anything but a bargain. At least for the items of interest to me, his "buy it now/make offer" prices are about 3-4x what other vendors want for the same items. If that's the way it is for all items listed, I can only wonder how he stays in business. In my case, the two items I've purchased were simply not available from other sellers, and I wanted them bad enough to make an offer. One offer was accepted, the other ignored, and after waiting for some time to see if the item would become available elsewhere, and it didn't, I paid the asking price. I created some side by side images of offerings from "billsbargainstamps" and other sellers, and thought about sending them to him with some thoughts on the matter. But I figured he "knew what he was doing," i.e., was knowingly overpricing his material, and accepting the fact that he'd lose a lot of sales to others, but make up the "loss" on the fewer overpriced items he sold. A seller who has been around as long as he has is not likely to be interested in what I think about his practices.

I can't think of too many things that get prospective customers worked-up more than pricing. I agree whole-heartedly that his material seems too expensive. But that's his right, and if I don't like it, I won't buy from him. This is not, however, a reflection on the quality of his material, imo.

No one on ebay has a better selection of 1869 pictorials (my specialization) than Bill Langs. He lists more 1869 Essays, proofs, and EFOs than all the other sellers combined - and that's not an exaggeration!

If I have a reason to dislike Langs, it's because he has so much great material I can't currently afford! If money were no object, I'd probably buy his entire inventory.
