The pieces of wire come from a catalogue provided by a manufacturer of wires for the paper industry!

The twill-binding comes into use around 1938!

Apart from this I have actual pieces of the wires used by the Maastricht Paper Mills, but they are already multilayered! Multilayered wires came into use around 1972....

Very interesting topic! I couldn't find anything very specific in the Brookman "chronicles" but there was some interesting info on the intermediate & double papers though...perhaps a discussion for another time eh? :)
