Well I have started bidding on U.S.19th century covers..if I can find local post offices without paying the finders fee all the better..for now I am concerned with the condition of the envelope. the stamp and the cancel..we always pay too much when starting out on a topic but that evens out with knowledge and experience..been there before !!

Phil:

You should talk to Ottawa Mike. He's been big-time into covers this past year, and has been collecting postal history of Oswego Cty, NY (pre-1900). He could give you some tips, etc.

David
