It was one of our better ones tonight. Lot of goodies up for auction, picked up a used 90 cent Perry and a CSA #8. Not bad either. Even had some box and collection lots up tonight. Two sets of Kansas and Nebraska also went on the block. About 30 people made it, great turnout.
Phil you would have thought you went to heaven if you saw the circuit boxes tonight. No less than 7 stuffed books of mostly mint Guatemala. Bought a full book and quite a few pickings out of the others.
Actually the first time a youngster has mingled with the old coots. A little girl of 11 joined tonight. That was just great surprise in itself. All around one of our better club meetings.

We usally get a large circuit box with at least 2 US classics and 1 or 2 Germany and then it is potluck I guess. On average 20 to 25 books in a circuit. Last meeting I had mentioned a intrest in Central America and what do you know two lots went on the block for Costa Rica. They got snatched up quick. We have some older gentelman that always bring in great US classics. Makes you wonder just what they replced them with.

Ditto! Me three!

I live in a philatelic wasteland!

Mac - it sounds like a blast - especially the Guat and German circuit books.

Greg, we may not have all the shows like others but at least I can get a stamp fix at the club. Did you ever get a chance to look at thoose San Marino triangle pairs I listed?

Part of last nights goodies.

Oi Marie, that #22 with the star cancel is a keeper..like the 19th century U.S. the Guatemala fancy cancels go for a premium..if you have a duplicates of the blue and green 10 cent #118 or any overprints thereof I will gladly swap for them..phil

Still racking my head on Ecuador overprints but will do Phil. Almost shelved them to get to Guatemala as a nice little sorting pile keeps growing. Must resists, must resists the urge.

Glad you had a good turn out and a youngster as well. My club meeting last month had a very good turn out of new people and a boy around 11 also. We place a free ad in the local paper announcing the time, place, and APS slide program "Basics of Stamp Collecting for Beginners" or something like that. It was a pretty good program even for the old time experienced collectors. I try to talk up the SCF and other sites.
