Can't really see if it's Type I... so if you could
please upload a larger scan, and brighten and focus
it, it would help...

Also, you need to check for watermark... a 491 will
not have one...

It's impossible to know the Scott number on these without watermarking them. They could also be Scott 455's (if SLW.)

Irrelevant whether it's a 455 or 492...

(at best) either way it's worth $.05 to $.10 ...

Agree that the stamp has little value, but this is obviously a collector trying to learn, so didn't want to confuse/mislead him that it could only be the Scott number you said it "clearly" was. It's not "clearly" a Scott 492.

Part of learning is knowing all the possibilities and understanding what distinguishes one from the other.
