Newly Registered, But Have Been Watching At A Distance.

Hi, my name is Kim. I just started collecting a few years ago and really enjoy it. I started with 20th Century US, and bought just about anything mnh including plate blocks, sheets, singles, etc. Then I needed to focus so I moved on to early 20th Century mnh commemorative sets, then definitive. I started to question the need for collecting pristine gum, esp. since I never see it once it is in the album, so moved on to mint or used 1847 - 1937. I really enjoy all the details of the Washington Franklins and 1851 issues, among others. I've also very recently started collecting postal history.

Much of my new focus came from information I first found here, so I decided it is finally time to register.

I've noticed several people here from my home state of Minnesota. Looks like we still have a strong collecting base here!

Sorry I missed your responses. Thanks for the warm welcome! Jenny, I'm already hooked on postal history. I'm constantly searching for early examples from my hometown of Minneapolis.

I just got a collection that seems to be from an elderly man who passed away recently and from his father. They both lived most of their lives in Minneapolis, so I've got a bunch of historical stuff that I'd like to pass on. Lots of covers and postcards from the 1890s and on. Nothing worth much and not worth my time to try to sell.
