Hi Everyone,
I come across this stamps and do not know if the mark on it is meant to be this way or just extra ink / mess? Thank you!

Wow, I would not have guess that this was a cancel. Does anyone know if it has a name or what type of design it is?
Thank you,
Sue

Maybe she was thinking of a blob from an ink pen or some other source than the ink used in the production process.

I think it's a badly applied, over inked cancel, that is a blob.

Thank you for all the replies.
I never thought about there not being any black in the stamp ink color.

Although it would be a rather late use for it, it almost looks like an over-inked target killer.

I lean towards a target-type of cancel also.

The extra square on top has me puzzled though. But then the post-masters carved their own cork cancels at times.

But, 1933 seems a rather late year to be using a cork fancy cancel perhaps. Maybe someone was experimenting and being creative?

In a way it does look like run-off from ink from a pen too. Strange. Nice stamp underneath though.

Actually there were a lot of fancy cancels in the 30's, usually relating to the name of the sending town in some way.
