Each month at the Ottawa Philatelic Society, we designate a given theme. February is Latin America month.

At last evening's meeting, I did a half-hour lecture on one-country collecting, using Costa Rica as an example.

It was well received, though I don't think too many of the members will be collecting a Latin American!

Hey David, you never know maybe one or two will be closet collectors of Central America

Years ago I put together a collection of several 19th century stamps from each country in Latin America. I still look at it from time to time and enjoy it.

The selection of stamps was more or less random, being those I was particularly attracted to.

David the lecture would have been greatly appreciated down here. I myself was surprised by the amount of South/Central America collectors at our club.
They may not all admit it but throw up a Latin America lot on the block and sit back and watch the frenzy.

Neither. I stood-up and did my lecture, and passed around pertinent stamps, covers, etc. for what I was speaking about.
