This list goes back to the February 2014 "leak" of CSAC proposed subjects for 2015 stamps. I don't know if this will hold or not, but it's a start for some discussion, I'm sure:
I love my Mac, but I really don't think the impact Steve (or Maya for that matter) on American society warrants the rush to memorialize him on a stamp so soon. I wish the USPS would still wait the traditional 10 year period before honoring a person on stamps.
I would rather see William H. Carney. Not only was he an ex-slave who was awarded a medal of honor during the civil war, but he was also one of the first black mail carriers.
We will like some of them and not others, as for me I collect used US these can be tough to get. When I order stamps from people that require a SASE I always use commemoratives. Speaking of commemoratives I educate and encourage people when asking for stamps at the post office to ask for commemoratives not just stamps.
