Got up this chilly Sunday morning here in London and, for some reason, started thinking about my boxes and books of stamps. Found your site and it all looks very interesting.

I've been collecting since childhood but mostly in a disorganised fashion. UK focused but other worldwide items too. My own purchases, inherited / gifted collections given to me over the years and so on. You know the story. I'm probably pretty typical of a "non dedicated but keen" enthusiast.

At the heart of my thoughts is I wonder what my collection is worth and if I have any valuable items tucked away. Yes, I know you've heard that so many times before. You're all probably raising your eyebrows and grinning.

Hopefully I will learn something from your forums and maybe I'll post some pics of interesting specimens.

On another aspect - my day job is as a tax advisor/planner/problem solver.

UK based but have connections in many other locations. Happy to help if any of you have tax/accounting/financially related questions although I understand I can't post in "general discussion" yet.

Well, that's me.

See you round the forum, as Frankie Howard used to say.

Welcome to the forum. You will find, as I have, that there are many collectors here who are interested and willing to help. Enjoy.

Thanks for the greetings. Will post something about a few UK stamps that fell out of an envelope two days ago during a "sorting out" exercise.
