I went looking thru all the dog stamps I have and not one of them was a beagle. These should become very popular now that the beagle won the Westminster dog show.

This is the yahoo link to the article.

This dog is owned by people living not too far away.

P.S.: Here's a better story from my local newspaper:

Hi LeAnn,

Yakutia is a new one on me, so I had to look it up. Here is what I found on a Russian website:

"The Republic of Sakha has an independence within the Russian Federation (Independent Internal Republic of Russian Federation). The supreme legislative body of state authority in Sakha Republic (Yakutia) is bipartisan State Assembly of Sakha Republic (IL TUMEN). President of Sakha Republic (Yakutia) is a head of the state and a maximum official. The government of Sakha Republic (Yakutia) is the executive body of state authority."

At first I missed the "i," entered yakuta + map, and came up with two at the top, the first being Yakuta Drive, in Marietta, Georgia, and the second a pin marking a spot in Burkina Faso, the former French protectorate known as Upper Volta in Africa.

Cheers to the beagle. I happened to catch a bit of him on the news and Uno really looked good in his champion's stance.

Not my stamps, just borrowed a picture from an e-bay sale. I was hoping I had a beagle in my collection but no such luck. Something for me to look into. I usually don't watch the dog shows, and I heard on the radio that a local dog won. So I had to check it out.

I'm not a big fan of beagles because they bark so much - but, I'm glad a real dog won and not some prissy little pretend rat critter!
