I remember back in the late 70's when the first Black Heritage stamps were issued, many collectors boycotted the stamps and said they were not about to put "
Black" stamps in their collections, even though they thought nothing of earlier issues such as Booker T. Washington, John James Audubon,Frederick Douglass, etc. Well, 36 yrs is a long time and hopefully attitudes have changed. It has developed into a really nice long running historical series.
