This is one of the first stamps I got, it was when I was really young and on some of the stamps I cut the perfs off.
It was a part of the great american series.

I remember reading Jack London's "To Build a Fire" in high school, which is one of his best short stories. A man in the Klondike during the Gold Rush ignores warnings about the dangers of travelling alone in very cold weather, and goes out by himself. He gets into trouble when he falls through the ice into a creek. To keep from freezing to death, he must build a fire and dry his clothes. If you remember the story you know how it turns out...
