Help ID This

Doesn't quite seem to be a cut down P1 as there is no die impression, margins too big to be a P2.

Looks like it could be Scott 2433a (the 90c Lincoln from the 1989 Souvenir Sheet). What are the design dimensions?

I thought the proofs need the line on right. I believe this is a P3 (India)

The 122P2's don't seem to have the line.



I dont have a P1 or a good images to tell if they do, but don't think they do.

I think the line shows up on the plates, but not the dies.

Could be. One thing I just noticed on my proof is the lettering in "US POSTAGE" is dipping into the inner frame line, is that normal ?

Are all the stamps in the block a shifted central vignette ?

if that line is a result of the black part of the two-part die then it would only show up on stamps from those plate(s) with that central vignette centering, or lack of there of- no?
Also that looks like a P4 on card or a color trial (of the actual picked colors) or a die proof? Is is a cut down die "sunk"- I can't see very well on my monitor but the margins on that sort of narrow down the possibilities. It's a really cool piece though!

P3's and P4's are all plate proofs, so they would have the registration lines. I would think centering the vignette was a big problem for them, this set the first time they had to do that.

The P1 and P2 being die proofs would not ever have the registration lines.

I am leaning toward this is a cut down P1, based on no lines and the margin sizes.

Here are the registration lines on the Atlanta's, you can see the second color lines easily, since it was from a plate.
