How neat are those? You need to find one of those Chicken fancy cancels. There should also be some interesting chicken related revenue stamps. Maybe you can branch out to eggs. |

Jamesw - very nice cover. I like it very much.
The black (occasionally blue or white) Minorca is the largest of the Mediterranean 'light' breeds, and famous for its extra-large white eggs. A proud and stately chook which does surprisingly well in confined surroundings. My grandfather bred chickens in his backyard - although mostly bantams. |

The roosters of the breed, "el Prat de Llobregat" (just south of Barcelona) are famous for its tasty flesh and blue legs. |

nr-notrare, What a great set of postcards. They would be a nice addition in any collection. I love the chickens. |

Here's a stamp I created and had printed to use to remind myself to pay my egg man. |

They came out great-- just like the proof above. The slick paper is hard to get a permanent cancel on-- they wipe off even when dry. I just stamp $PAID along side. Next time I'll print my own on dry-gummed, pre-perfed paper run through the old laser jet. |
