I seen this on top of a post card pile in n antique shop so I grabbed it. Can anyone tell me about it please? It's full of B&W souvenir cards. I'll scan more later because it's too early now and plus I had chemotherapy yesterday.

I'm more interested in that purple/magenta dial stamped on it than the actual souvenir card set.

Thank you. I suppose I could find a round-about date by ID-ing the stamp. I know it's a perf. 11 so I'm guessing it's a US Scott #525 although it does appear to be a flat-plate printing bu I'm never that lucky! lol Thank you.

Here is a cropped image of it if anyone can add a little more light on it?

Compare your postcard to this one (found on an auction site) which is similar in design and it uses the same "mailed from" marking, but it explains it a bit more:

1. "The Inter-State Co." as shown on the "mailed from" marking is the publisher of the postcard. That's why I refer to it as a "marking" rather than a "postal marking" as it would seem the marking was simply a souvenir and has no postal relevance.

2. The reference to D.& R.G.R.R. is the abbreviation for "Denver and Rio Grande Rail Road".

All but one possibility is a high end stam,p so I only have to assume it's it's the flat-plate one. Although it looks likes a n a roterary press stamp becaue of the centering but either way it's a beautiful piece!

Thank you for the research wt1 I too had noticed that but being a postmark collector too I couldn't pass it up. It's full of beautiful images of the town too. I really enjoy it a lot. -
Jeff

I now believe it to be either a Scott #525 or a Scott #498 what do you think?

ILS: surely perf-10 flat plate [SC 424 or 462]. WT1 - yours looks like SC 498.

So, I apparently I goofed up perfing it and now it's a perforation 10 and quite possibly Scott #424, #462 or possibly a #543 but that's unlikely of course!

I just measured it and it seems to be just a tad more than 22mm. so close but so far..so must be a Scott #424 or a Scott #462. I'm not that curious to lift it to find out and to make matters a bit worse the regular catalog and and the specialized cat don't list the quantity printed so, since it's not an expensive stamp anyway so "big whoop"...lol I quit on it! :)
