I have looked everywhere on line and can't find the plate number for a set of ten City Flag 32 cent stamps I found. It's "V 545". Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I think the Flag & City stamps were 33-cents ... the 32-cent were Flag over Porch. To which stamp are you referring? In addition, is it possible that there is a faint yellow digit between the V & 545? Frequently, yellow digits are difficult to see. Also, what is the stamp format ... booklet, coil or pane? WAG (Water-Activated-Gum) or Self-Adhesive? There was a 33-cent booklet pane of 10 (3278d) with plate # V3545. |

It would not be a coil; there was no plate number starting with V for the 33 cent City Flag coil.

Ah, thanks for the replies. It's V3545 and the 3 is yellow and you can't see it with the naked eye. It's also 33 cents. |

I still can't find it for sale. Anyone know what it's worth. I think it's a 3278d. Once again thanks for the help. |

The 2014 Scott lists the 3278d pane at $14. The 2008 Durland lists the 3278d pane with plate # V1111 at $20 & all other plate numbers (V3545 included) at $13. |

Thank you all very much appreciated. I have actually 44 panes from an office I had in the mid-90's.They were in an envelope since then. The sad thing is I had a lot more of those and a number of the flag over porch stamps (V55555) and was using them as regular postage until one bright postal employee told me to check the value. I must have ripped off at least 15 ten stamp sheets. Sad but true. |

If all of your Flag over Porch booklets of 10 are plate number V55555, don't feel badly about using them for postage. It's a fairly common plate number and isn't really worth more than face value. There are other plate numbers that are much more scarce.
The City Flag booklet of 10 exists in two die cut gauges. Scott 3278d is gauge 11, while Scott 3278j is gauge 11.25. A few plate numbers can be found on both 3278d and 3278j. Those that I'm aware of are V1111, V1112, V1113, V2322. V2222 occurs only on 3278j; the rest of the plate numbers occur only on 3278d. 3278j booklets are worth more, although I don't know the current Scott value for either variety.
