Richard G,

Machines don't much care what they cancel. If your letter was handed to a Polish postal worker in Britain, I'm sure it wouldn't have gotten far.

The stupidity was on the part of your friend (Israeli?) who didn't know you can't, at least technically if not practically, mail a letter from Britain with a stamp from Israel. And what of the Israeli postal system that delivered it that way?

I happen to be of Polish heritage, 100%, and am anything but stupid. Maybe too trusting, at times, but my mind can take on the best of them. I find it offensive that on your very first post you would make a comment like that.

Is that the kind of prejudice that still exists in Israel?

The Polish jokes in the United States pretty much ended when a brilliant man from Poland who spoke maybe 17 languages became Pope, helped collapse the Soviet Empire, and showed the world that those who told Polish jokes were the real morons!

Or maybe just jerks.

Nothing offensive at all about Richard's post. And for the groups information, Richard 'G' is more Polish than a Pole and has a sense of humour second to none.

If anyone else can say that his post was anything other than 'run-of-the- mill' then I must have been reading the wrong message !!

Now back to Freaks and errors...........

Londonbus1.....Hates controversy.

So I guess Bobgggg's message immediately following Richard's
can be seen as being highly offensive ??

Modern Who?.. First I was born in Warsaw Poland and I think of Polish as my second language out of 5. Being of Polish origin I think that I have the right to crack jokes at my expense and I only get upset if a non Pole should do it. I have been in Israel for 38 years but I still lecture in Polish to groups (mostly teachers) for about 2.5 hours once or twice a month. I only make jokes about people I like...that is why my English friend jumps to my defense.. I owe you a beer Michael. Modern Who..If you were upset, then I apologise but it was in fun.
<No ethnic jokes or slurs of any kind allowed. Let's talk about stamps.>
