Last evening I attended what was my 2nd meeting of the Fredericton area stamp club. Attendance was less than last time because people were away; I imagine trying to escape the snow.

The theme of this meeting was show and tell. One member had done a study on the Imperial penny stamps (maps)and specifically dealing with the rate change. He had the most amazing covers and shared the history of these stamps with us. It was quite intriguing and interesting.

The other member to present was Mary (she's actually a customer of mine here at the nursery) She explained the security features on the new stamps from Great Britain(and you guys think American stamps are hard to soak).

But guess what guys! The hit of the evening was my homemade Canadian Album. I didn't stand up and do a formal presentation, I had brought to show one of the guys who was interested in doing the same thing.

I received great compliments and even offers to fill in some holes

They really made me feel like one of them and I had a wonderful time.

Oh almost forgot. At the end of the evening one of the guys showed us some of his older covers and OH My Gosh I'm certain it would make any of you Drool.

Dianne

Isn't it wonderful to create something and have other more experienced collectors treat it as something special....sounds to me like it's a great club.

When I discovered the club I procrastinated before joining. I'm so happy I finally made myself go. Now I'm even keener to get my collections sorted out so I can share. Next meeting is circuit books.

It sounds like you had a great time D. BTW I just placed my order in for my nursery. 5,000 onion plants, 1,000 pounds of sweet corn seeds, 2,000 pounds of seed potatoes, 1,000 pounds of green bean seeds, a few hundred pounds of alfalfa and timothy seed.

Now if someone had stamps of these I would be set.

Treasure the time you can spend with a progressive stamp club.
there is a wealth of knowledge to be had.
I just wish there was a club in our area, the closest one is 300 ks away.

mkfarm, it appears you are really a farmer. Wow, I can't believe all the work ahead of you. Let's hope there is time for stamps too.

I know this is about D's stamp club but then again her working at a nursery is interesting and related to some of my favorite stamps topics.

I could give the UPSP some nice onions to consider for stamps.
