Hey guys...I've got about 10 of these. Test sheets. back of envelope is blank. Definitely authentic. Had em for about 15 years. Curious about the value...any idea what they are worth?

I can't help you but as a collector of Flags and USA Test stamps, I can say they are nice !

I just found a good list of USA Test stamps and it states that this one is Sc#TD130a from a 2006 Specialized.
Well, I have a 2006 Specialized and it just 'aint there !

Maybe you know this, but if not... Scott "CV" (catalog value) is typically two or three times what you might get selling them on ebay, and several times what a dealer would give you for them. But, on something as unusual as these, you might get a little closer to CV. If CV is is $75, you might get $50. But only selling them as singles, not as a lot. But since I don't know anything about these in particular, I'm just generalizing, based on a couple of thousand purchases on ebay.

Just to clarify, these "Test Stamps" are listed -- but way in the back of the Scott Specialized Catalog of US Stamps. The correct Scott Number is TD130A (note capital "A" suffix). The SCV as per my 2013 Catalog is still at $75.00.

The footnote below the listing is quoted as follows:

Quote:
All known examples of No. TD130A were affixed to envelope backs for use in testing.

Miscut and misperfed examples of No. TD130A, showing parts of either two or four stamps are known. These were intentionally produced for testing purposes from rolls of printed stamped paper without horizontal or vertical spaces between the stamps. The printed web was die cut and processed into rolls with spaces between the stamps. Value, single $75.

Normal examples of No. TD130A were printed from gravure cylinders with horizontal and vertical spaces between stamps. These were intended for rolls with spaces between the stamps.

Two very good and interesting articles about these test coils have been published in the August and October issues of "The United States Specialist", They are available along with some more articles about coil stamps at www.usastamps.com/Richard.Nazar.html

see I was thinking it was in this range...i emailed this guy a pic to see what he has to say. after a couple minutes of digging, I learned that the stamps were printed incorrectly on purpose. meaning this is a common version for sale for $750. anyways...i appreciate your help and trust your opinions, thank you for your time!

Nonuggets, please try again. I dropped a dot and it works now. The second and third articles are about these stamps

I am a little confused by "back of envelope is blank" - the ones I have seen have an address on the front and have gone through the mail and the back has the test stamps - did yours go through the mail?

The test involved these TD130A plus TD130B and TDB89A and they are all only found on these covers (although some have since been soaked off).

I find it interesting that the ones nonuggets pictured show misregistered colors as I think all of the ones I have seen (I don't own any - yet) have proper color registration (but some show the die cutting misregistration as previously noted - this was done to save money since they already had some printed spaced for a different die cutting spacing and they just went ahead and die cut them with a this spacing)

You can not rely on the insane asking prices of billsbargainstamps to determine what anything is worth.

As long as we are on test stamps, does any one have any info on who produced TD116 Proclaim Liberty)? I have long wondered if it is really a test stamp or just a Cinderella.

nonnuggets,

Don't read too much into the $750 in that ebay listing you linked. That particular dealer prices things about 2-4 times what others price similar items for.
